Black, White, Red and Blue Blues on Election Day Blues Moon Radio Nov. 8, 2016

Black, White, Red and Blue Blues on Election Day

Tonight we'll start with a mini-interview with Bruce Clark, who will be appearing at Tapp's next Tuesday night, Nov. 15, 2016.

Then we have the honor of continuing to premiere Bloodhound, the new CD from Elliott and the Untouchables. He'll chat with us for a bit about the new music and the band's CD release party on Nov. 11th at the Social Grill in Ballentine SC (at Lake Murray) - open (no cover charge) at 7 and music starts at 8-ish.

Elliott and the Untouchables are featured in my book, South Carolina Blues, which makes a great gift for history buffs, SC lovers and music aficionados.

Other highlights on tonight's show:

Our Word of Mouth Productions artist of the week is Lonnie Brooks (who happens to be featured in my book, South Carolina Blues - you'll have to get the book to know the connection/link, but it's a great one and you have not seen this photo of LM before, I can guarantee, because it has never been published previously).

We also feature our adopted Sandlapper, Luckyman Beall (another artist featured in South Carolina Blues), who is the subject of a feature article in the Southern Drawl section of Columbia Living Magazine for Nov/Dec. Article by yours truly, Clair DeLune, and Luckyman is as delightful and charming as he can be... you won't want to miss this month's issue.

Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion will be at the former UU Coffeehouse December 10, so we'll play a tune by her. The concert series is transitioning to Blue Moon Concerts - these will still be held at the UU location at Heyward and Woodrow.

Playlists:

Copies of South Carolina Blues are available from the publisher, and wherever books are sold - in Columbia, signed copies are available from our favorite record shop, Papa Jazz on Greene Street for the cover price of $22 plus tax. And, as always, mail order signed first-editions are available from the author directly by sending a check or money order for $28 dollars to Clair DeLune at POB 5591 Columbia, SC, 29250; which includes price of book, tax and $4 S/H. Please indicate to whom you would like the book inscribed (please print clearly). A perfect gift for any Sandlapper, or music or history buff - or all three!

As always we thank our underwriters, who help bring great music to the Midlands, because we could not imagine our show without their input and support:  Papa Jazz Record Shoppe; California Republic Stand Up Paddleboards in Leesville near Lake Murray (closed for the season); and Word of Mouth Productions. You can link to these orgs by clicking on the visuals...
