Blues world loses Lil Dave Thompson

Received from Gary Erwin:

We have just received the news that blues artist Lil Dave Thompson was killed this morning in a highway accident while on his way home to Greenville, MS after his last gig on his tour, a show here at the Blues Bash, at Fiery Ron's Home Team BBQ on Sullivans Island, SC last night Feb 13.

Dave was a hard-working, really nice guy, who played exquisite blues. We will miss him a lot.

We are reminded of how fragile life is and how dangerous it can be to be a travelling blues artist.

We are happy and proud to have known Dave and to have heard his music. He is survived by a wife and children. More info on a fund to help the family will be posted at www.lildavethompson.com
