Freedom, Puppy Dawgs, BBQ and Blues on July 5, 2016 Blues Moon Radio

Freedom, Puppy Dawgs, BBQ and Blues
July 5, 2016 Blues Moon Radio playlist and info

On Tuesday's show we will celebrate 240 years of American Independence with two songs about freedom sung by those who have not always been free of prejudice and or persecution - my hope is that, within my lifetime,  everyone can live in peace, enjoy some well-earned prosperity and experience the liberty envisioned by our forefathers in the Declaration of Independence.

Part two: Pups! Two of my German Shepherds (although Claudette insisted she was Alsatian, NOT GSD) have a birthday at this time, so we always dedicate songs to her and to Rocky... beloved pets!

Part three: A few of the many Blues bands that will perform for you free at the annual Festival of Discovery in Greenwood (not Greenville) SC this weekend. What you will discover is a BBQ cookoff contest and great Blues for NO gate fee! Cannot beat that... make the drive to Greenwood for a great time!

Sorry we did not make last week's show... we had the Highway Blues... still recovering from the accident, but am so glad to survive, be alive, and still have a chance to thrive... so I promise to bring y'all a great show Tuesday 6-8 p.m. ET/USA on WUSC-FM ... stream at www.wusc.sc.edu. Thank you to our listeners and supporters:

As always we thank our underwriters, who help bring great music to the Midlands, because we could not imagine our show without their input and support:  Papa Jazz Record Shoppe; the UU Coffeehouse; California Republic Stand Up Paddleboards in Leesville near Lake Murray; and Word of Mouth Productions, who present the Columbia Blues Festival each autumn.
