Welcome to the author of Encyclopedia of SC Blues and Jazz

Blues Moon Radio and Clair DeLune are excited to welcome the author of the Encyclopedia of SC Jazz & Blues (USC PRESS), Benjamin Franklin V, Ph.D., on Tuesday's show, June 21st, 2016.

As a fellow author [of South Carolina Blues, on Arcadia Publishing], it is both an honor and a thrill to have Ben Franklin, who just released the Encyclopedia of South Carolina Jazz & Blues as our guest host for the entire two-hour show, which will feature South Carolina musicians and stories and biographies from his amazingly detailed book that took five years to compile!

During Ben's and my planning luncheon yesterday, I exclaimed how much I wished his book had come out when I began teaching Blues history... but no matter how long it took, it is worth it. I've reviewed the book for a publication and highly recommend it for any history, music and/or SC lover.

Please join us as we take a tour back in time - nearly a century's worth of music from our own Sandlapper musicians. This show is going to be more fun than the law allows in most states... and I'll be in a state of euphoria!

Enjoy these wonderful SC artists on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. on WUSC-FM at www.wusc.sc.edu.

Many thanks to Dr. Franklin for sharing his music lore - and we are excited to have him back on the airwaves of WUSC, where his long-running jazz how originated decades ago. Thanks you to as well for lending us your ears each "Tuesday Bluesday"...
Clair DeLune and RockyDawg Blues Defender ( who will be playing along on the mouth harp).

As always we thank our underwriters, who help bring great music to the Midlands, because we could not imagine our show without their input and support:  Papa Jazz Record Shoppe, the UU Coffeehouse and California Republic Stand Up Paddleboards in Leesville near Lake Murray.
