Welcome to this week's Blues Moon Radio show... for those of you who have come to this page for the first time, we are pleased to meet you. The Blues Moon has been on WUSC-FM (and streaming via the Web) since 1990. We hope you will bookmark this page and join our Google Blogger page as a follower, as well as "LIKE" and "favorite" our Facebook page (Blues Moon Radio), as well as www.bluesmoonradio.blogspot.com so we can keep you updated on Blues events and news, as well as playlists for the show.
The weekly show airs at 6 p.m. (-5GMT) and "Tuesday is Bluesday." Your host, Clair Delune - and her intrepid inspiration/co-host, RockyDawg, Blues Defender are happy to have you tune in via the Web at http://wusc.sc.edu, the University of South Carolina's award-winning college station. You may also stream the show via ITunes at radio/college and university/WUSC-FM.
Ms. DeLune is a writer, historian, artist, counselor, university administrator and public relations practitioner who has taught upper level music appreciation courses at the Unversity of South Carolina, including Blues History, Rock and Roll History, Jump/Swing/Boogie-Woogie, and Women in Popular Music of the 20th Century. She has contributed articles and chapters to numerous books and periodicals and endeavors to make the show historical, informative, empathic and entertaining. In her spare time, she trains horses and works to help rescue animals who are abandoned or abused.
This week's Blues Moon Radio with Clair DeLune (11/29/11) features historical artists who are commemorated on their birthdates falling between Nov. 15 and 30th. We will also begin playing from the best of 2011 contemporary Blues CDs. To kick off the official Christmas season (we think starting after Thanksgiving allows for a sufficient period of time to incorporate Christmas Blues songs, without being overbearingly festive and all aglow with cheer and merriment... it's a Blues show, after all, you know! :)
We are always on the hunt for Blues songs about any holiday or season - so keep us posted if you come across any possible inclusions we could procure. Blues artists are welcomed to send their own material to: Blues Moon Radio_POB 5591_Columbia, SC 29250-5591 ...
