Playlist for The Blues Moon with Clair DeLune Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010

Thanks for tuning in for tonight's Blues Moon Radio Show... glad to have you with us!

We've had a few requests in advance (I'm writing this a bit ahead of showtime, so I haven't checked to see whether or not I'll be able to fulfill those requests - fingers crossed!).

Requests -
Ritchie Hayward tribute (via those Bluesmen he has played with: Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, Jonny Lang)
Son House - John the Revelator
Drink Small or John Lee Hooker
Lightnin' Hopkins - Ball o'Twine

I appreciate it when listeners provide input as to what they'd like to hear... and the obscure ones are fun to find - I'm not always successful, but I love to try!

Again, thanks for y'all's feedback... chat with me on FB if you have a request or a theme suggestion (a trouble in yours or another's life that you'd like to "treat with the Blues" and I'll get working on it. Please let me know you are a show listener in a message along with your friend request on FB (Clair DeLune) or Twitter (Blues Moon Radio)... I had some issues with spammer/scammer/hackers that made me a bit gunshy about accepting every friend request blindly. Thanks for your understanding about that extra step... love to have you on board.

Tonight's theme revolves around the disappointing fact that, while there should always be room for discussion, disagreements, concession and reconciliation in life, if someone volleys during the detante stage, it is best to get out of range and return to discussions later. It's impossible to simultaneously practice diplomacy while dodging bullets during a supposed cease fire - I'm jes sayin'.

Or, as a dear, clever friend often says to me about trying to work something out with an antagonistic person: "There is very little education in the second kick of a mule."

So, what is Clair DeLune's advice if you encounter some mean ol' kickin' mule? You might prefer to treat it with kindness but you risk being kicked to a pulp before you get your third head pat in, therefore she advises caution: "Get outta'tha stall, y'all!"

No mule songs tonight, though! Whew! My hope is that - if you do happen to be going through a bad time of any sort, perhaps the music in the show will help pick you back up. Blues music has a soothing effect, and can be quite uplifting.  Enjoy the music... and thanks for tuning in.
