3- B.B. King concert ticket purchases to benefit the RONALD McDONALD HOUSE of Charlotte

Sept. 15, 2009 (Charlotte, N.C.) - Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants is sponsoring the B.B. King concert at The Fillmore on Oct. 6 and giving $12.50 for every ticket sold to the soon-to-be-built Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.

"We're committed to giving back to our community, particularly to children-focused groups," said Jeannette Anselmo, Senior Administrative Director of Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants. "We hope this event brings both donations and awareness to this very important organization in Charlotte."

If the Fillmore concert is a sellout, the total donation could equal as much as $25,000 to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, which is planning to break ground later this year.

"Fans of B.B. King will be glad to know that a portion of the ticket sales are going to a charity that wants to provide the families of children being treated in area medical facilities with a safe, affordable and caring 'home away from home," said Anselmo.

Tickets for the Oct. 6 concert can be purchased at livenation.com, the Hardee’s Thickburger box office at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, select BLOCKBUSTER stores, or charge by phone 877-598-8698. For more information, directions, or to purchase tickets go to http://www.livenation.com/. For information about upcoming shows or directions call 704-916-8970.

Clair DeLune on FACEBOOK! Join me there, too.

I'll continue to post to the Blues Blog regularly, but I also welcome you to join me on my Facebook site.

Catch me there - Clair DeLune - and there's more than one of us, so I guess some good search terms would be WUSC, Blues Moon or South Carolina; or try the link at the left.

Hope I see my listeners and friends there. If I don't know you personally, please take a moment when asking to "friend me" to include a message letting me know you are a fan of the show - I'm trying to get a fan page up, but it hasn't worked thus far - still working on that! I want to include you all, but I'm sensing the friend page can get pretty unmanageable timewise.

My main focus is going to remain on the music, but I believe Facebook will be a great way to stay in touch with listeners so I can let you know what is coming up, what the background is on artists, post interviews and podcasts, and keep you updated with other relevant information that won't fit into my two-hour show time slot.

Also, it might be a great way for you to make requests, suggest show themes and let me know how you like the shows. You may write me as well at bluesgoddess@gmail.com.

Thanks, as always, for your interest and for your support of the Blues Moon and especially WUSC-FM, which is dedicated to educating listeners about non-mainstream music formats.

Blues Moon listeners have been wonderful and supportive over the past twenty years I have worked hard to bring you what I can find in the best as well as the most obscure Blues - and I enjoy hearing your perspective.

Clair DeLune

Blues Moon radio show for Sept. 15, 2009

Access to Google was blocked last week, so please pardon that the show was not posted to the Blues Moon blog as it happened.

We hope you enjoyed a bit of a departure from the Blues Highway as we turned onto Rockabilly Road.

Thanks for tuning in - thanks for all the great calls to the station and the e-mails to bluesgoddess@gmail.com with your comments.

Of course you are welcome to comment here - and I'm now on Facebook (yes, it's Tuh-Rue, y'all!). Catch me there via Clair DeLune (there's more than one of us - the noive of some peeps - so I guess some good search terms would be WUSC, Blues Moon or South Carolina). Hope that helps and hope I see you there.

If I don't know you personally, please take a moment to send me a note letting me know why you want to "friend" me (otherwise you could be some Schmo from Kokomo wanting to sell me some Joe).

Thanks!
